Dr. Alberto Castiel
Dr. Alberto Castiel is a Board Certified Family Physician. He is originally from New York City and trained at the University of Florida. He has been in practice for 20 plus years and treats wide variety of illnesses and conditions. Dr. Castiel is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Florida School of Medicine, Florida State University School of Medicine , and Nova Southeastern University School of Physician Assistants.He has a passion for all sports especially scuba diving which he says sparked his interest in hyperbaric medicine. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. The patients of The Back & Neck Institute are in incredibly qualified hands under the watch of Dr. Castiel.

Dr. Felix Ramirez
Pain Management Director
Dr. Felix Ramirez is an anesthesiologist and has been affiliated with multiple hospitals before bringing his talents to North Florida Medical Center.
He received his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Dr. Ramirez also speaks multiple languages, including Spanish.
Shannon has been a nurse for over 26 years, and enjoys the rewarding, and challenging aspects of this exciting profession. Upon graduating from the prestigious Medical University of S. Carolina, Charleston, she worked on a Step-Down Unit, caring for complex Trauma, Cardiac and Stroke patients. Shortly after, she joined the US Navy, and was commissioned as an Officer, then stationed at a joint operational base command in Rota, Spain, where she served as a Flight Nurse and OB/PACU Nurse. After leaving Europe, she was transferred to San Diego, California, and returned to the floor, working in Surgery, ED OBS, Cardiac Care and PACU.
After earning her master’s degree, and becoming a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she was hired at a fast paced, Out-patient, Internal Medicine Clinic, caring for an array of patients, with acute and chronic medical conditions. She then transitioned to Inpatient, working for an Inpatient Care Specialty Group, and was trained as an Internist and responsible for over 300 acute and chronically ill patients.
Shannon is married to a Navy Retiree and currently enjoys running, and competes in local 5K events, and she also likes to travel, read and spend time at the beach.
Tiffany is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She grew up in Callahan, Florida. She graduated from Jacksonville University with her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. She has previous experience working with post-operative ortho/neuro patients, as well as medical surgical patients. She pursued her interest in nursing, completing her master’s degree, with honors, from South University. She strives to provide patients with personalized care to meet their specific needs.
Tiffany and her husband reside in Jacksonville, FL. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and playing with her two dogs.
Dr. Austin Mosely
“Dr. Austin Mosley is a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician. He grew up in Sebring, Florida and graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Port Orange, Florida in 2013. He provides an effective, hands on approach to chiropractic care that is heavily based in functional restoration. He also has a strong interest in natural internal medicine and holistic primary care.
At home he spends most of his time with his wife and three dogs. He enjoys going to the beach, to parks, and playing guitar.”
Dr. Percell Sanders
Dr. Percell Sanders is a board-certified Chiropractic physician. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where he attended First Coast Highschool and later the University of North Florida where he obtained his bachelor’s in health sciences with a minor in Health Education. Dr. Sanders, as a child growing up, knew that he had a calling to build up people physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It was his Junior year at UNF where he found that Chiropractic was going to be his route to achieve his life-long passion of helping individuals achieve wholeness and wellness within themselves.
Dr. Sanders knew before he left to continue his education that he would be back in his hometown to help serve the very community that helped raise him. Now back in Jacksonville, he is allowed to put into practice the philosophy of “the power that made the body, heals the body.” Using state of the art equipment and techniques that provide top-quality rehabilitation methods and chiropractic treatments, Dr. Sanders aims to address and relieve the cause of today’s most common and complicated musculoskeletal problems, along with other health disparities.
Dr. Sanders has an extensive history with working and volunteering for many community missions in Northeast Florida. Dr. Ashley Richiardi
Dr. Ashley Richiardi is a board-certified chiropractic physician. As a Florida-native, she studied pre-med psychology and nutrition at the University of Florida prior to receiving her doctorate from Logan University in 2013. Dr. Ashley takes a functional approach to health, helping people return to the activities they love. She offers a variety of gentle adjusting techniques to help you feel your best. She loves working in an integrated setting so patients have access to a combination of therapies and treatments to help them reach their overall health and wellness goals. In her free time, you’ll find her exploring nature, cooking and baking with her son, doing yoga, and reading.
Dr. Vincent Depasquale, D.C.
Co-Author of “Reversing Diabetes Naturally” and “The Autoimmune Solution,” Dr. Depasquale was featured on the discovery life channel in a reality TV show called Reversed for diabetes. Dr. Depasquale is also the Co-Founder of NSI Stem Cell and NSI Integrative wellness. Founder of Orthobiologics Associates and The Center for Integrative Healing. Formally trained as a chiropractic physician, Dr. Depasquale recognized early in his career that affecting individuals metabolically with nutritional intervention and lifestyle modification will greatly affect the quality of his patient’s lives. He has therefore spent the last 10 years learning and practicing a functional medicine, wellness and lifestyle science paradigm and regenerative medicine to develop the tools needed to promote health in individuals with chronic and degenerative conditions.
Barbara Short graduated from University of St. Augustine in 2007 with a doctorate in Physical therapy. She has used her manual therapy skills she obtained from the University of St. Augustine to treat a variety of orthopaedic disorders. She believes that patient education is the key to treatment leading to improved outcomes. She enjoys working with the general active population and the active geriatric population. She has been a PT for 12 years and working in an outpatient setting for 8 ½ years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Kristin Smith, PT WCS/ brings with her over twenty years of Spinal Orthopedic and Neurological Physical Therapy. Kristin holds a Specialty Certification In Women’s Health/ Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation. She also has earned a Certification in Sports Medicine. Kristin has successfully worked with professional football players, pro-baseball pitchers, the PGA/LPGA and Equestrian Athletes. In her spare time, she volunteers in the community and teaches children with physical challenges to horseback ride.
She earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology from The University of Florida. Kristin graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Physical Therapy from Florida International University College of Medicine in Miami, FL. Kristin is grateful to serve our patients at NFMC. Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant
Stanley Turner is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with over 20 years of experience. He began his medical career in the Army in the mid 80’s. Stanley is a true patient oriented PTA with a hands on approach. He specializes in following patients throughout their rehab and educating the patients of Back & Neck Institute on the how and why behind every exercise we put them through. Stanley believes in treating each patient, not the condition. When Stanley is not treating patients, he is a beekeeper by trade and loves to dedicate time to fishing.
